It's Never Too Late to Quit Smoking! November 17 is the Great American Smokeout. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society, this event encourages smokers to give up the habit for a 24-hour trial, and calls attention to the dangers of tobacco and the challenges of quitting.


Recent research confirms that no matter what your age, giving up smoking can bring many health benefits. According to the American Medical Association, seniors who quit smoking reap almost immediate benefits: longer life, improved cardiovascular health, and a decreased risk of cancer and a host of other diseases.
